Waterlilies & Lotuses
Nearly 500 species and cultivars of the crowning jewels of the watergarden - the waterlilies and lotuses - are described in great detail by the late Perry Slocum. This book includes more than 130 of the best new hybrids and describes all species and major cultivars, including day- and night-blooming tropical and hardy waterliles and lotuses, the hybridizer (where known), the author's and the hybridizer's comments on the best usage for each plant. Perry Slocum held several U.S. patents for several lotuses and hardy waterlilies and has been one of the most important breeders of aquatic plants. Sadly, Perry passed away on November 29, 2004 at the age of 91. He leaves an outstanding legacy of achievement, crowned by this book.
