Snails feed on the debris and sediment that accumulate on your pond bottom and sides. A natural part of a healthy pond; they are safe for plants and fish. These snails reproduce readily without over-populating their environment. They are totally aquatic and do not leave the water. They easily overwinter by using a de-icer in freezing conditions.
Recommended stocking: 1 per square foot of pond surface area for ponds up to 100 square feet. 1 per two square feet of pond surface area for ponds over 100 square feet.
All fish/scavengers are intended for use in enclosed bodies of water. Check with your local extension agency prior to adding any fish or scavengers to a non-enclosed environment.
