Margaret Thomas Koogle,President of Lilypons, is the fourth generation of her family to oversee the business. Margaret approaches everyday as an exciting opportunity to help our customers achieve their dreams of having a water garden. Her genuine enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the subject calms nervous beginners and excites long time pond owners who may call or email frequently to discuss their concerns or share their pond experiences. Margaret’s number one priority at Lilypons is customer satisfaction and her dedication to this fact is well known by our many happy returning customers. When away from her desk, she loves traveling, baseball, and spending time with friends and family, especially her daughters Caroline and Annemarie.
Melissa Richard, Office Manager, started working at Lilypons in 1999 as a customer service representative. Providing superior customer service has always been of the utmost importance throughout her career. Other responsibilities include administrative and accounting support. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including three amazing children. She has passed on a love for the outdoors to them and their latest pastime is boating.
Suzanne Boom is our Operations & Marketing Manager. She started at Lilypons in 2011 as a sales associate and still enjoys helping out in the store since she loves talking to customer about water gardening. Suzanne is a marine biologist and artist whose love for animals has led her from her home in the Netherlands to the United States.
When not working at Lilypons, she runs her own business, Gibbons Rock Studio, specializing in pet portraits and wildlife art. Suzanne lives with her husband Jim, their wide variety of pets, and enjoys visiting her parents back in The Netherlands.
Bob Lawrence is part of our friendly sales staff and has been working at Lilypons since 2011. We knew Bob long before he came to work with us as he was the postmaster (now retired) of our local post office and a regular customer. He enjoyed his own pond so much that upon his retirement, he re-entered the workforce, and has become a valuable source of knowledge for our customers. Outside of Lilypons, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Brad Warner, Senior Sales Associate and Assistant Buyer has been working at Lilypons since 2002. Many of our customers have come to depend upon Brad’s extensive experience and sound advice as he was an avid pond owner prior to working with us. Brad is also a gifted decorator whose talents are enjoyed by all who come to visit our showroom which changes from season to season. In addition to working weekends in season, Brad is an elementary school teacher in Montgomery County. The few moments of free time he has, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two Pembroke Welsch Corgis.
Claudia Pfistner, Customer Service Representative, has been working for Lilypons for many years and if you call us, will most likely speak with her! She takes great pride in servicing the customer's that call on the phone, sending out bonus bucks and helping in any way she can. When not at Lilypons, Claudia enjoys spending time with her family.
Karen Mazza is part of our friendly sales staff and has been working at Lilypons since 2010. Karen is a professional gardening consultant whose calm demeanor and clever mind has helped many people decide what is best for their pond. From fish and plant stocking to waterfalls and streams, Karen’s advice is always appreciated and understood. Karen enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She maintains a beautiful garden of her own in which she generously shares cuttings and seeds.
Sarah Stull has been part of our sales staff since 2014. In addition to water gardens, Sarah loves horses.
Emily Stull has been with Lilypons since 2015. She is part of our sales staff and she also helps maintain the display gardens.
David Hoffman started working at Lilypons in 2011 as a member of the sales staff but since has also become a valuable part of weekend fulfillment and plant production. He still works in sales where many customers have enjoyed the one on one attention that David always provides. He has a passion for all aspects of water gardening from raising dragonfly larvae and fish to picking out the best waterlily for your pond. David’s positive attitude and outlook on life is infectious and we welcome his hilarious commentary and insight. David lives with his fiance Ashley and they enjoy hot-tubbing and working in their garden.
Richie White is our warehouse coordinator/dry goods shipper and has been working at Lilypons since 2008. Richie is committed to getting every detail correct which is why Lilypons has an almost perfect shipping history and such a reliable inventory report. He is also responsible for assembling many of our privately labeled products which he takes great pride in. Richie enjoys camping, spending time with family, and supporting his favorite sports team, The Washington Redskins.
BobbyBobby can be found outside and in the back packing plant and fish orders. He also helps with the maintenance of the facilities and the grounds.
Richard M. Koogle is Vice President of Lilypons where he has been an invaluable leader since 1979. Currently, Richard’s primary focus is pond installation, consultation, and speaking; areas in which he is able to utilize his vast knowledge of ponds and artistic talent to help people achieve their dreams of a backyard oasis. Richard is also instrumental in maintaining our nearly 100 year old facilities and acreage. He and his wife Victoria have five children, one grandchild, two dogs, and a cat. Richard enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and when he has time, loves to canoe, fish, and play in the outdoors.

Tara Sutton and Kristen Weaver
Twin sisters Tara and Kristen started at Lilypons in 2002. They started their own pond maintenance company, K&T Ponds, and have been working for Lilypons as independent contractors since 2015. They are knowledgeable, hardworking and have a passion for ponds. In addition to doing spring and fall cleanings, they will also do house calls other maintenance tasks such as pump replacements. When not knee deep in a pond, Kristen loves going to soccer games. Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kids.
Dave owns GreeneryScrapes and works for Lilypons as a contactor since 2015. He has many years of experience and you can count on him to make your pond look its best. Dave is also a substitute teacher with FCC and the Vocational training center in Frederick, MD
Garry Wagner was a fixture at Lilypons since 1962 and we can safely say that he had seen and done it all. Garry’s maintained hundreds of ponds over the years and many happy pond owners requested his return every year. When not making house calls, Garry was busy at Lilypons maintaining the grounds and ensuring that our ponds never dry up. Garry was a proud father and grandfather who enjoys spending time in the great outdoors.
