Margaret Thomas Koogle, President of Lilypons, is the fourth generation of her family to oversee the business. Margaret approaches everyday as an exciting opportunity to help our customers achieve their dreams of having a water garden. Her genuine enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the subject calms nervous beginners and excites long time pond owners who may call or email frequently to discuss their concerns or share their pond experiences. Margaret's number one priority at Lilypons is customer satisfaction and her dedication to this fact is well known by our many happy returning customers. When away from her desk, she loves traveling, baseball, and spending time with friends and family, especially her daughters Caroline and Annemarie.
Melissa Richard, Office Manager, started working at Lilypons in 1999 as a customer service representative. Providing superior customer service has always been of the utmost importance throughout her career. Other responsibilities include administrative and accounting support. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including three amazing children. She has passed on a love for the outdoors to them and their latest pastime is boating.
Suzanne Boom is our Operations & Marketing Manager. She started at Lilypons in 2010 as a sales associate and still enjoys helping out in the store since she loves talking to customers about water gardening. Suzanne is a marine biologist and wildlife artist from the Netherlands. Suzanne lives with her husband Jim, their wide variety of pets, and enjoys visiting her parents back in The Netherlands.
Sales and Customer Service
Bob Lawrence is part of our friendly sales staff and has been working at Lilypons since 2011. We knew Bob long before he came to work with us as he was the postmaster (now retired) of our local post office and a regular customer. He enjoyed his own pond so much that upon his retirement, he re-entered the workforce, and has become a valuable source of knowledge for our customers. Outside of Lilypons, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Brad Warner, Senior Sales Associate and Assistant Buyer has been working at Lilypons since 2002. Many of our customers have come to depend upon Brad's extensive experience and sound advice as he was an avid pond owner prior to working with us. Brad is also a gifted decorator whose talents are enjoyed by all who come to visit our showroom which changes from season to season. In addition to working weekends in season, Brad is an elementary school teacher in Montgomery County. The few moments of free time he has, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two Pembroke Welsch Corgis.
Angela joins the Lilypons team this year as a sales and customer service associate. Angela is excited to be a part of the Lilypons team and is happy to help you with any of your customer service needs. She also works as a photographer and is an avid flower and vegetable gardener. When Angela isn't working she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Nicole joins the Lilypons team this year as a sales and customer service associate. Nicole has a passion for working with people and is enjoying her job at Lilypons. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors and with her loved ones, especially her little son.
Miguel started working at Lilypons last summer. He works in the retail store and is knowledgeable in fish selection and care, pond design and filtration, and many other topics. Miguel would love to answer your questions and help you with your pond care needs.
Production and Fulfillment Associates
As production assistant Robert can often be found knee deep in a pond selected the finest lilies and bog plants for our customers. In his spare time he loves to go hiking and plans to visit every national park.
Alex is new to Lilypons this year. Alex works in plant order fulfillment and onsite pond and plant maintenance. In his spare time he plays in a local band that is currently working on their first album.
Richie White is our warehouse coordinator/ shipper and has been working at Lilypons since 2008. Richie is committed to getting every detail correct which is why Lilypons has an almost perfect shipping history and such a reliable inventory report. He is also responsible for assembling many of our privately labeled products which he takes great pride in. Richie enjoys camping, spending time with family, and supporting his favorite sports team, The Washington Redskins.
Darlene assists her son Richie with the packing and shipping of all our plants and dry goods, as well as many other tasks around the warehouse. Darlene has worked at Lilypons off and on for many years.
Bobby is instrumental in the maintenance of the facilities and the grounds. From rebuilding pond banks to replacing the roof on the fish facility, Bobby does it all.
Bobby has been with Lilypons since 2014.
Richard M. Koogle has been an invaluable leader since 1979. He had worn many hats at the company over the years and currently Richard's primary focus is pond installation, consultation, and speaking; areas in which he is able to utilize his vast knowledge of ponds and artistic talent to help people achieve their dreams of a backyard oasis. Richard is also instrumental in maintaining our nearly 100 year old facilities and acreage. He and his wife Victoria have five children, three grandchildren, two dogs, and a cat. Richard enjoys coaching his children's sports teams and when he has time, loves to canoe, fish, and play in the outdoors.
Tara Sutton and Kristen Weaver
Twin sisters Tara and Kristen started at Lilypons in 2002. They started their own pond maintenance company, DC Ponds, and have been working for Lilypons as independent contractors since 2015. They are knowledgeable, hardworking and have a passion for ponds. In addition to doing spring and fall cleanings, they will also do house calls other maintenance tasks such as pump replacements. When not knee deep in a pond, Kristen loves going to soccer games. Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kids.
Steve Failor and Dave Failor
Dave owns GreeneryScrapes and he and his brother Steve work for Lilypons as a contactors since 2015. They have many years of experience and you can count on them to make your pond look its best. Dave is also a substitute teacher with FCC and the Vocational training center in Frederick, MD.
