Winterizing Bogs

  • As leaves brown in the fall, trim them off, down to the level of the soil (Except Cattail varieties).
  • Lower the containers to the bottom of the pond.
  • Be sure that the container is resting below your local freeze line.

  • Before the first frost, pull your Tropical Bog Plants (container) out of the water.
  • Relocate the container to a bright space in your home.
  • We suggest placing the container inside a watertight, decorative pot in order to tie it in with your indoor decor.
  • Keep the plants' soil moist all winter long and it will thrive.
  • Bring it back outside in the spring when the water temperature is consistently 65 degrees F. Use a Pond Thermometer.
